Finally I am back online. After having spent some time having fun on the slopes of switzerland & france i am back in halle, and we are already planing a new project. However, looking back on the last semester, i have to say that this project has been extraordinary. The group really got it´s own groove in the last 6 weeks and we all gave everything to make it all happen. The final presentation at our university on Tuesday the 2nd February 2009 was a huge success. People were standing in the alleyway because the room was packed and we all got very good feedback and also good grades. I think this the right time to thank our Teachers : Detlef Lewandowski & Enrico Wilde and our external advisor who had a lot of knowledge and some good tricks: a real bamboo-specialist: Mathias Richter - Thank you very much.
I would also like to thank the team who spent all these nights together ( no sleep till …) : Till, Ludwig, Fabian, Toshi, Seung-Jin, Wang and Nadine - thanks a lot, it was a pleasure working together with you !
the Connections between the frame and the Fish´s skin are also finished - they are held in place by polyurethane-resine which was chosen due to its flexibality. But it will have to prove it´s abilities once the fish is hanging and the tail starts to shake.
Yesterday night i finally finished the frame - with a delay of about 2 1/2 Days. That means no sleep untill presentation. Here´s a photo & more picture´s will follow soon !
I wanna take the chance to thank our Sponsor, Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Tönges - Chairman of conbam.de, who was very kind to support us with a great load bamboo - Thank you Christoph, we hope to see you at the presentation !
Yesterday I decided on the material for the fish´s skin. In the last moment an unexpected honeycomb made the race! By clicking on the image you can see the whole story.
Yesterday I made my 3rd and final Model. I will post some photos of it later on. Here´s how to bend bamboo sticks - they´re great for any model to work with ! ( Click on the picture to see all )
